Do you know the signs if your four legged friend is suffering from kidney injuries?

Studies show that dogs kidneys are very similar to that of humans.

Doctors have explained that creatinine is filtered by the kidneys and test will will show early damage of kidneys function.

A university doing research found that the same type of increase of creatinine in the blood of dogs could also show kidney damage as humans. This test show possible illness and the severity of our four legged family members.

Even though I am just hearing of this process, it is far from new news.

A college of Veterinary Medicine says that beside the slight structured differences, human and dogs kidney function the same way.

Doctors can also at this point check small increases of creatinine that was thought to be no big deal. This allowed them to perform a study to see if similar risk would occur in our dogs.

So like Humans, damage to the body such as being hit by a car or other related injuries would or could cause additional damage to the kidneys.

They have tested a large enough group of dogs during this study so it doesn’t seem at all like their talking out of the side of their neck.

So I’m sure you can see the seriousness of this as there needs to be no delay if ever similar injuries would happen to your dog and getting them to the Vet ASAP. And there are some respectable Vets in the Atlanta area that know exactly what to do in this situation.

Veterinarians have this kidney injury staging system that would help them determine the increase of cretinine as well as the risk of death from the injuries.

The question then becomes “how far will the dog owner go” as to concerning the cost of the treatment to increase the probability of them pulling through the experience successfully.

I guess a different question could be”what would our dog do if the paws was on the other foot and it was us in risk of kidney injury.

I am sure, no question they would go all out to keep us as their loving, providing, family member healthy to share more of life together and that’s what we all want.

So this is one more check that should be done for you and your dog if suggested by your veterinary to ensure that your four legged pal says in your life as long as possible.
